The David Valero mountain bike circuit in Baza unveils a pump track and fitness area to promote sport and active lifestyles.

A significant and noteworthy improvement has been made to the David Valero municipal mountain bike circuit, located in the Fuensanta area. This sports facility, which has hosted important mountain bike competitions, now also has a large pump track so that fans of this sport can enjoy it without leaving the city. The facility is designed for use with bicycles, skates, scooters and skateboards, making it accessible to people of all ages, and is intended to actively promote inertia-based sports. The new space has all the necessary safety measures in place and has already been inspected by professional athletes in this field, who have praised its excellent conditions. In recent years, there has been a clear trend towards improving sports facilities in municipalities that choose to build facilities of this kind.

In the vicinity of the ‘David Valero’ municipal circuit, located next to the Baza Greenway, one of the city's main healthy ‘highways’ used by hundreds of people every day, and a few metres from the new pumptrack, a complementary health area has been installed, incorporating bio-healthy elements, a space and furniture for rest and several groups of calisthenics elements.

The new pump track at the David Valero circuit has been made possible thanks to a grant of €180,684.95 received by Baza Town Council as part of the FEMP's call for proposals to promote healthy lifestyles. Specifically, this is the second call for grants aimed at carrying out actions for the creation or rehabilitation of healthy environments in order to promote healthy lifestyles. These grants are being developed within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which is being financed by financial resources derived from the European Recovery Instrument (‘Next Generation EU’).
