A 16th century hermitage built on the site of the former Convent of the Holy Spirit (founded around 1530), the only one currently open for worship among the group of them that were built on the outskirts of the old Muslim city. The convent, originally female and later of canons regular, belonged to the Order of Sancti Spiritus, based in the arch-hospital of Saxia in Rome, and was dedicated to the care of abandoned infants. Placed under the patronage of the Enriquez family in 1550, it was dedicated, not without many difficulties, to the collection of the numerous foundlings of the city, until the exclaustration of 1835. Nothing remains of the old convent, which was renovated at the end of the 18th century, except for this charming chapel with its Mudejar-style tower.
