THE HUMILLADERO PIPE

Explore historic pillars and troughs in a charming medieval layout, perfect for experiencing local culture and daily life in a picturesque setting.

In the Baza of the Modern and Contemporary Ages, the pillars and troughs located at strategic points, many of them built centuries ago, predominated. These elements, attached to walls and designed to supply both people and animals, responded directly to the layout inherited from the medieval city, with its narrow streets and small squares. It was not unusual to find them near the old access gates or in the main squares, where they played an essential role in everyday life. As for the pillar in Calle Humilladero, it is not known whether it was installed between the 19th and 20th centuries or at an earlier date. So far, no documentation has been found to determine its exact origin.
