The municipal cemetery of Baza is located to the northwest of the town, between olive groves, next to the cortijo de los Dolores, in the Pago del Copetín, with an irregular layout due to the different extensions. The perimeter of the cemetery is a whitewashed wall with a crown of tiles. The niches occupy the vast majority of the space, distributed throughout the cemetery, including those attached to the cemetery walls all around. These are decorated with marble or granite tombstones, floral arrangements and religious symbols, leaving a smaller space for burials, some of which are made directly in the ground. Access is not particularly even, there is only a guard's house, which is in charge of the care and maintenance of the enclosure on the entrance esplanade, and the main marble pantheons are of different types: with a very carved architecture, marble and coffin on a pedestal, Gothic chapel, etc... There are some examples of flattened bricks. There is also a common ground tomb, with a slab on plinth and a cross, in white marble. It was opened in 1885 and extended in 1940 with a chapel for religious services, an autopsy room and the morgue in 1959 and 1980.
